Nikola Corporation has sold 200 hydrogen fuel cell-powered trucks since the turn of the year, and 235 since the vehicle went on sale in Q4 2023.
Up to 88 of these vehicle sales came in Q3 2024, although no financials related to the quarter have been revealed by Nikola yet.
The quarter represents a company record for sales of the Class 8 truck. In January (2024), the automotive firm announced it had delivered 35 of the 42 hydrogen-powered trucks produced in 2023.

“This is a record sales quarter for Nikola, with 88 hydrogen fuel cell electric (FCEV) trucks wholesales to our dealers for end customers, as well as the addition of the first-ever US dealer-based HYLA modular refuelling station,” said Nikola CEO, Steve Girsky.
“Despite overall market headwinds, Nikola remains focused on our mission to pioneer solutions for a zero-emission world, and we’re doing it one truck at a time.”
The HYLA refuelling solution, located at Tom’s Truck Centre in California, is capable of refuelling up to 30 trucks per day.
When addressing investors in February (2024), Girsky said the company expected to deliver three times more hydrogen FCEVs than its battery electric alternative this year.

Between October 2023 and February 2024, the company claimed 225 hydrogen fuel cell truck voucher requests had been submitted in California, US, “all for Nikola.”
