French green hydrogen producer Lhyfe has partnered with hydrogen internal combustion engine (ICE) developer Keyou to support the development of the European hydrogen mobility market.
The Baden-Württemberg region of Germany is set to be the initial focus of the collaboration, where Lhyfe is building the 10MW Schwäbisch Gmünd plant, which will supply green hydrogen to the H2-Aspen industrial park and a JET H2 refuelling station.

The partners say the plant would have enough capacity to put 100 vehicles, powered by Keyou’s hydrogen ICEs, into operation between 2026 and 2030.
Their efforts will focus on bringing together infrastructure for hydrogen production and distribution and the use of the energy carrier in heavy-duty vehicles.
Although the joint efforts will begin in the Schwäbisch Gmünd area, the companies hev said other regions in Germany will follow.
With plans of converting diesel trucks to hydrogen, Keyou believes the partnership will open up opportunities for the firm.
“We want to deploy our truck fleets in region where green hydrogen is available to our customers,” said Pedro Bravo, Chief Sales Officer at Keyou. “We are therefore pleased to partner with Lhyfe, one of the pioneers in the production and distribution of this green fuel in Germany and Europe.”
Having recently signed a five-year green hydrogen supply deal for four H2Mobility stations in Baden-Württemberg, Lhyfe’s head of Central & Eastern Europe, Luc Graré, said, “This agreement with Keyou completes the implementation of a comprehensive hydrogen mobility offer in Germany, and more specifically in Baden-Württemberg.”
