The company will be looking to develop and industrialise 1MW modular systems in both containerised and “open design” solutions.
The site, located near Muscat International Airport, can produce up to 130kg of green hydrogen per day to support the deployment of 15 hydrogen-powered taxis from the state-owned transport agency Mwasalat.
The Jo Bamford-owned firm says the new model can be refuelled in just eight minutes and boasts a range of over 300 miles, which it claims is a “like-for-like replacement to diesel.”
Kellogg’s replaced fossil fuel gas with hydrogen to power the toasting oven, which is used to produce brands such as Corn Flakes, Bran Flakes, Special K and Rice Krispies.
The maximum funding amount per project is €10m, while small and medium-sized enterprises can secure up to €8.25m per project.
