ZEV Station granted $4m for heavy-duty hydrogen refuelling station in Palm Springs

ZEV Station has received a Notice of Proposed Award (NOPA) for $4m by the California Energy Commission (CEC) to design, build and test a multimodal medium and heavy-duty hydrogen refuelling station off the I-10 highway in Palm Springs, California, US.

Once completed, the company says the station will have a five tonne-per-day dispensing capacity for Class 6-8 vehicles, serving as a testbed for hydrogen fast fuelling “on par” with diesel fuelling, targeting 8-10kg per minute.

Initially planned to offer gaseous hydrogen at 350 and 700 bar, ZEV says subcooled liquid hydrogen dispensing capacity will be added at a later date.
