ZeroAvia has today (August 10) revealed an all-new compressor for hydrogen fuel cell-based aviation propulsion systems up to 900kW in power.
The company says one of the key challenges in using hydrogen fuel cells for zero-emission flight is delivering the high flow of oxygen required for the chemical reaction in stacks to produce enough electricity to power the aircraft.
At higher altitudes, air compressors need to be powerful and efficient, without adding undue weight, ZeroAvia adds.
