ZeroAvia has attracted the attention of American Airlines, as the flight operator today (August 3) announces it has invested in the hydrogen-electric aviation pioneer.
H2 View understands, in addition to its investment, the airline giant signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ZeroAvia, allowing for the opportunity to order up to 100 engines from ZeroAvia’s hydrogen-electric powertrain development programme.
The announcement comes as another steppingstone towards a hydrogen-powered aviation industry, while American Airlines strives to meet its Net Zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emission target by 2050.
