ZeroAvia, AFI KLM E&M partner on hydrogen-electric aircraft maintenance training

Franco-Dutch aviation engineering firm AFI KLM E&M has signed an agreement with ZeroAvia to explore the training needs for technicians and engineers who will be involved in retrofitting aircraft with hydrogen-electric propulsion.

The partners have agreed to jointly study the technical training needs for engineers, technicians and mechanics that will undertake future retrofits and maintenance of aircraft with hydrogen-electric propulsion.

AFI KLM E&M (Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance) currently boasts a workforce of almost 13,000, supporting nearly 3,000 aircraft for 200 major airlines, which James Peck, Chief Customer Officer at ZeroAvia, believes will help develop the skills needed to support hydrogen-powered flight.
