ACME Cleantech has announced it will supply up to 100,000 tonnes per annum of green ammonia to fertiliser producer Yara under non-binding agreement.
ACME’s wholly owned subsidiary GHC SAOC will provide Yara Clean Ammonia with the hydrogen derivative on a long-term basis, expected to be the “world’s first arm’s length contract for renewable ammonia of this scale and tenure.”
The ammonia will be supplied from the first phase of ACME’s hydrogen facility in Oman and will comply with the EU RFBNO and Renewable Energy Directive requirements. Yara will use the ammonia to support its scalable distribution system.
The Oman facility has a planned capacity of 900,000 tonnes per annum to be developed in phases, with 2,200 million tonnes per day of green ammonia.
