Amogy has announced it will integrate its ammonia cracking technology into Yanmar’s hydrogen internal combustion engine (ICE).
Under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), the two companies aim to decarbonise marine power generation, combining Amogy and Yanmar’s tech to produce low-cost hydrogen fuel.
H2 View understands the cracking technology will break ammonia into hydrogen and nitrogen at lower reaction temperatures with high durability, whilst minimising heating and maintenance requirements.
In addition, the agreement will ensure Amogy and Yanmar build on the joint research and explore potential for collaboration in development maritime hydrogen fuel cell systems.
