Worley has been awarded a four-year framework agreement for Owner’s Engineering services by Gasgrid Finland Oy for its planned hydrogen pipeline project.
The Australian engineering company will provide front-end engineering and design (FEED) services for Finland’s hydrogen pipeline system up until 2028, with a potential extension to 2032, as part of a broader project connecting Finland, Sweden and the Baltic Sea region.
Under the agreement, Worley will “support and advise Gasgrid to ensure the engineering and construction of the onshore pipeline projects.”
Esa Hallivuori, Senior Vice-President of Infrastructure Projects at Gasgrid, said the company aims to boost Finland’s hydrogen economy by attracting high-value investments, expanding exports and strengthening the technology and service sectors.
“With the cooperation of Worley, Gasgrid envisions a long-term partnership to enable strategic project development and infrastructure investments,” Hallivuori added.
Last November, Gasgrid Finland selected StreamTec Solutions (STS) as its Owners Engineer partner for the Baltic Sea Hydrogen Collector (BHC) and Nordic-Baltic Hydrogen Corridor (NBHC), also under a four-year contract.

STS and Worley’s roles are expected to complement each other in different phases of the hydrogen infrastructure projects.
H2 View understands that STS will provide overarching engineering and project management support, while Worley focuses on the detailed engineering and design work necessary for implementation.
