Wild Hydrogen has unveiled its method of hydrogen production, which uses materials including waste wood, plants and compost as a feedstock.
The Gloucestershire, UK-based company’s patented technology is capable of converting biogenic materials into clear hydrogen, with the CO2 captured and stored. Other materials such as seaweed and plastic waste could be used.
The company is now planning to build its first commercial demonstrator to produce hydrogen at scale, ready for 2026. Wild Hydrogen believes this will prove it’s a “viable method for producing carbon-negative fuel, and an opportunity to make Gloucestershire and the south west a hub for this kind of technology.”
