Hydrogen is widely recognised as a diverse, zero-emission energy carrier that can support net zero targets and, with that, a new consortium aiming to implement hydrogen into whiskey making has been awarded £2.94m.
Revealed today (Nov 24), the UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy will provide the funds to enable the consortium to scale up the hydrogen-based technology and conduct hydrogen trials at Beam Suntory’s Glen Garioch distillery in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
