Westport Fuel Systems has completed a demonstration of its hydrogen HPDI™ fuel system equipped to a truck hauling a refrigerated trailer in Madrid, Spain.
The HPDI system allows trucks and off-road equipment manufacturers to use fuels such as green hydrogen and biogas in internal combustion engines (ICE) to meet regulatory engine emission requirements such as Euro VII and US EPA.
Carried out with Spanish supermarket chain Mercadona which carried out the test during its Madrid distribution service, the demonstration project saw participation from Disfirmur SL, Enagás’ subsidiary Scale Gas and Versallis Tech Services.
