The Western Australia (WA) Government has suggested today (May 17) that in order to support the growing hydrogen ecosystem in the region, a Renewable Hydrogen Target should be investigated and established.
In doing so, the WA Government believes that the creation of such a target will help drive local demand and assist emerging hydrogen production projects which are recognised as essential to developing the hydrogen industry.
The proposed legislation would set targets for retailers in the South West Interconnected System to procure a certain percentage of electricity fuelled by renewable hydrogen.
