Weichai has opened one of the world’s largest hydrogen fuel cell plants in Shangdong, China.
Tan Xuguang, Chairman of Weichai, yesterday announced that the 20,000-hydrogen fuel cell engine plant was operational, a step closer to building a “green power hydrogen city”.
The Chinese company began constructing the site back in 2018. Now, the project construction is complete along with a set of research and development tests.
Weichai’s new facility features a fuel cell engine and stack production line with a capacity of 20,000 sets, making it one of the largest hydrogen fuel cell engine manufacturing bases in the world.
