Victoria’s plans to establish a thriving renewable hydrogen industry have been set out in a new blueprint unveiled today (26th Feb) – and the Australian state thinks it could play a crucial role in reshaping its economy post Covid-19.
The Renewable Hydrogen Industry Development Plan sets out how the Victorian Government is laying the foundations for an emerging Victorian renewable hydrogen industry, connecting the state’s economy to renewable hydrogen opportunities that bring new jobs and investment, spur economic growth and innovation in new energy technologies, and drive forward the clean energy transition.
It says opportunities are emerging to recast the Victoria’s economy, introducing and accelerating greener ways to travel, use energy to heat our homes and manufacture goods using hydrogen and renewable energy.
Hydrogen can be produced a number of ways, and there are exciting projects underway investigating a range of technologies.
