US start-up Versogen’s breakthrough electrolyser technology that produces green hydrogen at scale in a reliable and affordable way has been selected by the invitation-only Shell GameChanger Accelerator.
Working in partnership with the US Department of Energy’s National Renewable Laboratory (NREL), Shell’s GameChanger Accelerator (GCxN) provides promising cleantech start-ups with access to financial resources, state-of-the-art facilities and world-class technical experts.
Versogen, formerly known as W7energy, said its new class of electrolyser, built with patented anion exchange membrane (AEM) technology, is engineered to reduce the costs of producing green hydrogen at every stage with the most advanced membranes that offer durability, performance and scalability.
The pioneering approach to hydrogen generation provides operational benefits similar to a proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyser system at a significantly lower capital expenditure cost whilst creating high-purity hydrogen.
