California’s Verne has said it “successfully demonstrated” the first cryo-compressed hydrogen (CcH2) truck, driving “hundreds of miles” and conducting several refuelling events with its novel equipment.
The tests reportedly validated the density and dormancy benefits of CcH2 and the reliability and durability of the system under real-world operating conditions. The company’s CcH2 filling equipment was used too.
In an online statement, Verne said, “These test results confirm the advantages of CcH2 relative to existing hydrogen storage methods, preparing Verne to commercialise the technology in various markets, beginning with hydrogen distribution.”
