Swedish-based Vattenfall has unveiled new plans to add additional green hydrogen production capabilities to a 96.8MW offshore wind farm based in Aberdeen, Scotland.
This is according to Energy Voice who claim that the company has put forward plans to demonstrate the feasibility of offshore hydrogen production by installing hydrogen generating equipment on an extended transition piece platform.
This could enable the vast production of hydrogen within Scotland allowing more hydrogen to enter the nation’s energy market providing a basis to decarbonise hard-to-abate sectors.
