Hydrogen’s adaptable attributes have seen it deployed across a range of different applications and on Tuesday (March 29), HB11 Energy made a breakthrough demonstrating non-thermal fusion of hydrogen and boron-11 using high-power lasers.
Fusion can create vast amounts of energy for power grids across the globe and, by using hydrogen, this is also regarded as a zero-emission.
During a demonstration, the results showed that the process produced ten times more fusion reactions than expected based on earlier experiments at the same facility.
