A US university professor has earned a private audience with Pope Francis to discuss hydrogen energy technologies.
John Sheffield (pictured above, image credit to Purdue University/JohnO’Malley), Professor of Engineering Technology at Purdue University’s Polytechnic Institute in Indiana, sees hydrogen playing a key role in the transition to a sustainable energy future while also mitigating climate change.
Joined by a delegation of four othre organisation members, Sheffield will meet with the Pope on Friday (7th February). The delegation will have a one-page petition prepared and will answer any questions Pope Francis might have.
The private audience follows video message comments Pope Francis made in 2019 to the United Nations Climate Action Summit 2019, calling climate change a “serious and worrying phenomena.”
