US DOE to award around $34m to innovative hydrogen research projects

The US Department of Energy (DOE) has announced 19 industry and university-led hydrogen research projects will be awarded nearly $34m.

The projects set to receive investment will all advance technology solutions to make clean hydrogen a more available and affordable fuel for electricity generation, industrial decarbonisation and transportation.

The DOE’s National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL), under purview of DOE’s Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management (FECM), will manage the selected projects for the award.
