The US Department of Energy (DOE) has selected GE Vernova to develop an artificial intelligence (AI) assistant trained for safe hydrogen handling and permitting for future deployment.
The project will aim to identify the primary challenges to siting, permitting and installation across the value chain, from hydrogen production through to end-use. The AI assistant will be named Hydrogen Smart Assistant for Governance Execution (HySAGE).
GE Vernova will lead the project team ‘H2Net,’ which will consist of Clemson University and Roper Mountain Science Centre based in Greenville, South Carolina. HySAGE will be validated against requirements learned at Vernova’s gas turbine manufacturing and technology centre in Greenville.
