Researchers at the University of Chicago have been awarded $12.5m by the US Department of Energy (DOE) to investigate zero-emission hydrogen energy, with hopes of developing catalysts to optimise electrolysers.
The funding will see the Catalyst Design for Decarbonisation Centre (CD4DC) established, which the University of Chicago has said will seek to discover and develop catalysts to optimise catalytic reactions in electrolysers for clean hydrogen production.
H2 View understands, the overall goal of the CD4DC is to work on finding innovative solutions for long-lasting hydrogen energy research, which could potentially offer a zero-emission alternative to fossil fuels.
