University graduates receive Innovate UK funding for hydrogen production process

Carbon13 graduate KI Hydrogen has secured around £470,000 ($605,000) from Innovate UK, for its waste biomass-to-hydrogen process.

The startup graduated from the University of Cambridge’s Cohort 4 and has developed a method to produce green hydrogen from waste biomass through electrolysis. Feedstocks such as wood or paper are used to produce hydrogen and other useful byproducts.

H2 View understands that the process itself costs around $2/kg and requires 50% less energy than conventional green hydrogen production processes.
