A study to advance the potential for large-scale subsea hydrogen storage has been launched at the National Subsea Centre (NSC) in Aberdeen, Scotland.
Created in partnership between Robert Gordon University (RGU) and the Net Zero Technology Centre (NZTC), it plans to explore the design of optimised and safe underwater tanks to support the storage of hydrogen at large-scale.
The partners hope advancement of the technology would improve the integration of hydrogen into grid-level use, as well as in industries such as offshore oil, automotive, aerospace, and domestic heating.
