ULEMCo will lead £8m project to advance hydrogen-powered emergency service vehicles

ULEMCo will lead an £8m ($10m) hydrogen fuel cell vehicle project involving the emergency services.

The company and its partners have been awarded £3.9m ($4.9m) by the UK Government, matched by industry, to a total £7.9m for the project, in collaboration with Oxfordshire County Council (OCC).

The ‘HYER Power’ project will develop a hydrogen fuel cell range extender module that can be integrated into electric vehicles for ambulances, fire engines and street sweepers.
