UK-based testing, inspection and certification (TIC) company Element Materials Technology has made investments to establish hydrogen testing equipment and expand its dedicated global hydrogen team.
Hoped to allow Element to meet increasing demand from customers exploring the use of hydrogen, the capabilities will serve the UK and European market to assess hydrogen infrastructure and storage systems under different temperatures and pressures.
Coming as the first of a series of $10m worth of investments, the testing equipment will allow for hydrogen testing at pressures up to 100 barG, frequencies below 1Hz and at cryogenic temperatures of -269oC, in a range of test frame configurations.
