In a bid to support the growing green energy sector, the UK Government has launched a new public body today (April 6) to strengthen energy resilience and explore innovative new technologies such as hydrogen.
Dubbed the Future System Operator (FSO), the new public body will be founded on existing capabilities of the Electricity System Operator (ESO), and, where appropriate, National Grid Gas (NGG).
The group will look to secure the UK’s energy independence and accelerate zero-emission technologies. Hydrogen is expected to be featured within this as the UK looking to integrate it into existing networks.
