UK regulator mandates green hydrogen electricity supply disclosure

The UK’s energy regulator has mandated electricity suppliers to disclose data that will ensure government-funded green hydrogen projects meet the nation’s low-carbon hydrogen standard (LCHS).

OFGEM today (June 18) approved a proposal from trade body Hydrogen UK to see electricity suppliers for the Hydrogen Allocation Rounds 1 and 2 (HAR1 and HAR2) projects provide data to the government’s Low Carbon Contract Company (LCCC).

Under the changes, the LCCC will use the information provided by suppliers to determine whether energy supply contracts for the projects are eligible PPAs.
