UK MOD logs 120,000 miles with GeoPura’s hydrogen generators

Hydrogen-powered generators (HPUs) supplied by GeoPura have powered vehicles deployed by the UK’s Ministry of Defence (MOD) for a combined total of approximately 120,000 miles.

The trial focused on implementing battery-electric vehicle (BEV) charging capability using HPUs at five key MOD locations, such as RAF Leeming, HMNB Devonport, Merville Barracks Colchester, HMS Excellent Portsmouth and RAF Northolt.

Going forward, GeoPura will leverage insights gained for the trial to drive ongoing R&D efforts, including smaller, more mobile hydrogen systems suited for shorter deployments. Larger power-dense systems to meet the diverse needs of the operations in both the UK and abroad will also be explored.
