Freeport East is aiming to accelerate hydrogen and other green transport solutions in India after partnering with Innovating for Transport and Energy Systems (ITES).
The UK-India innovation initiative, ITES focuses on advancing technologies, business models and infrastructures. This includes promoting alternative fuels, such as green hydrogen, battery and energy storage systems and electric charging methods. The two companies will also explore renewable generation.
H2 View understands that the collaboration “aims to leverage Freeport East’s mandate for Net Zero and innovation, integrating this with ITES’ international partnership approach to create scalable models of public-private collaboration for other freeports and publicly funded programmes.”
The two companies aim to encourage key industry players and public bodies to co-develop and deploy sustainable transport projects, by “creating mutually beneficial investment opportunities and enhancing bilateral trade between India and the UK.”
