UK hydrogen foundations laid, next govt must fuel growth: Hydrogen UK

As the UK prepares to decide its next government on Thursday (July 4), the nation’s hydrogen industry finds itself at a critical juncture, with the next government set to inherit a robust hydrogen policy framework, Hydrogen UK has told H2 View.

Polls suggest a significant shift in power is imminent. Labour is poised to reclaim office after 14 years, holding a commanding 20-point lead over the Conservatives.

Despite talk of a potential near-apocalyptic moment for the Tories – a government and party dogged by scandal, inflationary pressures, internal revolts, two changes of leadership, as well as a pandemic and wider inflationary pressures over the past five years – the UK hydrogen sector finds itself in a healthier place than it was in 2019.
