The UK Government last Friday (November 17) earmarked £960m ($1.2bn) to support clean energy manufacturing, including hydrogen.
Coming as part of a wider £4.5bn ($5.6bn) package to support manufacturing sectors, the Green Industries Growth Accelerator is planned to assist the expansion of clean energy supply chains across the UK, including hydrogen, nuclear, offshore wind, electricity networks and carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS).
The government says the funding will spur on additional private investment to back the nation’s green industry – adding to the £100bn ($125bn) it expects to be brought forward by 2030.
