The UK Government has today (Jan 25) unveiled a new £60m ($80m) funding programme that will enhance 11 floating offshore wind projects including one featuring major hydrogen production capabilities.
Included within this new funding programme is £825,692 ($1.1m) that will be designated to Cerulean Winds to support development of 200 of the largest floating turbines at sites West of Shetland and in the Central North Sea.
This will have 3GW per hour of capacity, feeding power to offshore facilities with excess 1.5GW per hour power to onshore green hydrogen plants.
