The United Arab Emirates (UAE), Oman and Morocco are expected to exceed their hydrogen production capacities for 2030, according to the International Energy Agency (IEA).
The Renewables 2024 report highlighted those three countries as key drivers for the hydrogen industry in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), with Israel also reportedly within reach of their targets.
Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Algeria are responsible for nearly 60% of the MENA region’s total ambition, however, the IEA forecasts that the installed capacity “still falls short of their 2030 ambitions.”
