TU Delft students win silver with hydrogen racing car

The Force VII, a racing car developed by students from Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), has been recognised as the first ever hydrogen racing car to secure a podium place in an official race.

The Forze VIII took place in a race on 24th August (2019) alongside 43 petrol-powered racing cars. After the 45-minute race, the pink racing car finished in second place in its class.

“We are extremely proud of our performance today. Never before has a hydrogen-powered vehicle left other cars behind in an official race – let alone in a race against these kinds of petrol-powered cars,” said Zhi Wei Cai, Team Manager.
