Toyota has improved its fuel cell production capability by tenfold, Jackie Birdsall, Senior Engineering Manager, told H2 View’s North American Virtual Hydrogen Summit.
Birdsall said it’s “not so difficult to swap in the fuel cell system” into other applications beyond the light-duty market.
“Between the first generation and second generation Mirai, we have a lot of learnings. We also reduced cost, improved efficiency and decreased the size of the stack,” Birdsall said.
