TotalEnergies is looking to decarbonise a large-scale chemical industrial complex in Germany with green hydrogen under a new partnership with VNG.
Having gone into operations in the 1990s, the Leuna refinery produces a range of products including gasoline, diesel, fuel oil, LPG, naphtha, aviation fuel, methanol and more.
The agreement between TotalEnergies and VNG will see green hydrogen produced from Uniper’s green hydrogen project in Bad Lauchstädt, Germany, that uses a 30MW pressurised alkaline electrolyser from Sunfire, supplied to the refinery via a pipeline.
