TotalEnergies selects Strohm for sustainable pipeline development

Strohm BV has secured a contract from TotalEnergies to supply ultra-deepwater pipelines to transport hydrogen and CO2 in offshore environments.

Part of HydrogenOne Capital Growth’s portfolio, Strohm develops thermoplastic composite pipeline (TCP) technology, which is reported to have a 50% lower carbon footprint than conventional pipelines used for oil and gas.

The contract signifies Strohm’s first entry into the ultra-deepwater market, set to build new pipelines at a water depth of 2,200 metres, in an offshore high CO2 field located in the Santos Basin in the Brazilian pre-salt area. The pipelines are planned for installation in 2026.
