Aberdeen-headquartered TIS Manufacturing is to make mobile hydrogen refuelling stations as part of a new renewables push.
The 21-year-old company, which specialises in the design, manufacture, service, sale and rental of well intervention and control equipment for the global energy industry has invested £1m in the new division, which will create around 20 jobs.
The catalyst to establish a renewables service came from prototype work and a subsequent ‘eight-figure’ contract award, which will see TIS manufacture the stations on behalf of engineering firm, NanoSUN.
TIS views this project as an opportunity to illustrate the transferable nature of its services, from oil and gas to the renewable energy sector.
