H2 Green Steel’s agreement with thyssenkrupp nucera has secured the capacity of more than 700MW for its electrolysis plant in Boden, Sweden.
Under the agreement, thyssenkrupp nucera will cover alkaline water electrolysis technology (AWE) and large-scale electrolysis plant engineering for one of the ‘largest’ electrolysis plants announced to date.
The giga-scale electrolysis plant is based on a concept where H2 Green Steel will use several complementing technologies for green hydrogen production, enabling balancing of the system for cost optimisation and operation flow as each technology’s core benefits can be harvested.
