The UK’s wind and solar farms could generate 60-80GW of green hydrogen in the Summer and Spring, says report

In a new report, excess energy produced from the UK’s solar and wind farms in the Spring snd Summer could produce green hydrogen with a similar capacity to 25 Hinkley Point C nuclear power plants (60-80GW).

According to the Energy Networks Association (ENA) A System for All Seasons report, the UK’s current wind and solar farms would be perfect to produce green hydrogen with that fuel able to then be used as a clean energy supply when demand is high.

This would come primarily in the Spring and Summer, when demand is low, and could support the regions energy shortages in the Winter.
