Test facility opened to trial hydrogen-powered port logistics in Hamburg

A test field for hydrogen-powered port logistics has been opened in the Port of Hamburg, Germany.

Hamburger Hafen und Logistik (HHLA) said the new facility within the Container Terminal Tollerot (CTT) would allow it to test the reliability of hydrogen’s use in heavy-duty vehicles within operations.

As part of the facility, a public hydrogen refuelling station has been installed, offering the infrastructure required to trail equipment such as straddle carrier, empty container stackers, forklift trucks, reach stacker, tractor units and trucks.
