Teijin Limited has developed a compact, lightweight and portable fuel cell unit and a companion pressure vessel unit that supplies hydrogen fuel from three cylinders.
The units will be showcased in a demonstration with Tokyu Construction in June, and after verifying performance during the demonstration, Teijin expects to begin selling commercial versions in Japan in 2024.
The company says its fuel cell unit can integrate the necessary equipment for fuel cell operation and its design incorporates the IE-LIFT™ 1T fuel cell developed by its partner, Intelligent Energy.
