Technip Energies has landed a contract from oil and gas giant bp to build a hydrogen production unit at its planned biorefinery in Western Australia.
The Kwiana biorefinery is planned to produce around 50,000 barrels of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and biodiesel (HVO) per day.
Built off Technip’s proprietary steam methane reforming (SMR) technology, the unit will have capacity to produce 33,000 nm3/hour of hydrogen, using either natural gas or biogas produced by the Kwinana biorefinery.
