Sweden’s first hydrogen-powered refuse truck deployed in Gothenburg

PowerCell has revealed today (June 17) that Sweden’s first emissions-free hydrogen-powered refuse truck has been deployed in Gothenburg powered by a PowerCell fuel cell.

The refuse truck is based on PowerCell’s industrialised fuel cell technology with the electrification provided by the hydrogen-electric powertrain meaning that the refuse truck can complete a full work sift without needing to be refuelled.

This new hydrogen-powered refuse truck is being managed by Renova and has been jointly developed by PowerCell, Renova, Scania and JOAB.
