Stratus 9 (S9) will acquire 10 of Cranfield Aerospace Solutions’ (CAeS) hydrogen propulsion conversion kits for a B-N Islander aircraft.
Potentially being increased to 15 solutions, the $20m order will enable the “first’ zero emissions fractional ownership programme in the US.
Once commercially certified in 2026, the system will be integrated into the Islander aircraft, with S9 positioned to become the primary launch partner in the US consumer market by 2027.
The companies will closely collaborate on infrastructure development, training programmes, and defining aircraft modelling specifications for US certification. Under S9’s inaugural zero emission fractional ownership programme, clients can own or co-own one of the world’s first hydrogen aircrafts.
