Statkraft and Air Liquide sign PPA for the supply of wind power at 20MW plant

Statkraft have announced it will supply Air Liquide with wind power to produce hydrogen at its 20MW water-electrolysis plant in Oberhausen, Germany.

The Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) will run from 2024 and allow Air Liquide to certify the hydrogen as renewable and achieve full REDII-compliance, so customers will be able to market products with a lower carbon footprint.

The electrolyser in Germany will be integrated into existing Air Liquide infrastructure in the Rhine-Ruhr-valley, supplying key industries and the transport sectors with hydrogen and oxygen.
