Statera Energy power plants set to be fuelled by Kellas Midstream’s low-carbon hydrogen

Blue hydrogen from Kellas Midstream’s H2NorthEast project is set to fuel two Statera Energy power plants in the UK Northeast.

Under a Heads of Terms (HoTs) agreement between the two, Kellas will supply hydrogen produced from the planned project to Statera for use in its two Saltholme power stations, making it the project’s first customer.

Statera plans to switch its two 50MW power stations at Saltholme from natural gas to hydrogen to help transition the sites into the “first” low-carbon flexible generation facilities in operation in UK.
